Basically, I went fishing with my youngest son. We go to a little pond that is stocked with Large Mouth Bass/Small Mouth Bass, Red Belly Perch, and some Bluegills. We use live worms mostly although I am trying out some fake worms and a brown lizard. I had one Large Mouth Bass strike on the lizard, he was measured at 16inches and probably weighed 4-6 lbs.

My son caught a Small Mouth Bass and the Red Belly Perch along with a handful of Bluegills. He loves fishing and everything outdoors. He is destined for a life with the Fish and Game Division!!! He isn’t shy about handling the live worms, he doesn’t quite know how to attach them to the hook but that will come soon enough. He wants to start using lures but I don’t think he is quite ready for them. Maybe next summer.

We also celebrated his end of the season soccer team party. He had a blast with all his teammates. He has gotten a lot better over the last three soccer seasons, especially this past one. He is much more aware of his surroundings and is better and defense.

As you can see, I had a nice weekend, I hope you did as well. Let me know what you did by leaving me a comment below.

Well, it seems the youngest kid gave the oldest kid the swine flu. Just when I thought we were in the clear, the oldest starts complaining about a sore throat and fever.

Photo courtesy of Flickr member wenzday01

I took him to the doctors this morning just to make sure he didn’t have something else going on. Two weeks ago he had a sinus infection and was prescribed antibiotics. Thankfully, the doctor said he was fine otherwise.

As a parent, I just hate to see the kids sick. I was hoping that we would only have to deal with the flu with the youngest, he “breezed” through the flu…the hardest thing was getting him to take the medicine.

Today was the youngest kids first day back at school since his recovery and I totally forgot it was early dismissal. He has early dismissal the first Monday of every month. I was waiting in the car line area and when the time came to pick up my son, there wasn’t anyone else around. Then the light bulb went off, ding!!!! early dismissal knucklehead!!!

Now I have both boys home and I am bound to get very little done, but such is the life of a stay at home parent.
