I may have a lead on a job with a commercial insurance company so keep your fingers crossed for me please.

I’m trying to prove myself so that if there is an opening in the near future, they think if me first.  I speak to so many people at Macy’s and in my neighborhood about jobs and everyone is hurting.  This economy is terrible.  I don’t believe the hype about the recession being over…I think it is far from over.

I was left alone all night in my department and did pretty well.  The computer/register isn’t that hard to learn and I was able to handle every situation that came my way.

I was given a questionnaire to fill out, they wanted to know if I had any interest in working there after the holidays.  I said yes but I had to give them a schedule of my availability and I am not sure if it will fit into their needs.  I’m hoping it does because I need the JOB bad.  I’d bust my ass and become their biggest selling salesperson in record time.

I’ll write more tomorrow after working 11 hours, tomorrow is going to suck bug time.  My feet are going to hurt from about lunch time on and they just might try to “overthrow” me in a coup.

I guess I’ll keep hitting the job boards hard, I let up for about a week but starting tomorrow, I’ll plug away again.

Today I worked 3:30pm to 11:20pm.  I had an hour break and I spent it at the food court of all places.  The mall was packed so I hope that all the stores did well today.  My feet are killing me!!!!  Standing for all those hours hurts like a m@#$%& fu$%(#!!!!

I’m guessing that the crowds are going to be crazy, the people are going to be at wits end.  I’m grateful to have the temp job but it would have been nice to have a few hours under my belt before Black Friday.  I don’t have to work until the afternoon, so hopefully the crowds won’t be so uptight and harried.  I’m working in the “kids” section so we will have to see how that goes as well.  I can relate since I have two young kids myself.  I’m hopeful that the people will give me an extra second or two while ringing them out.  My biggest concern is going to be the register and all its nuances.

I’ll fill everyone in sometime Saturday letting you know how my Friday went.

I spent nearly 9 hours at Macy’s today learning their policies and procedures.  Please don’t take this the wrong way because I am grateful to have a job, if even only temporary, but sitting in a 8 x 8 room and looking at a computer screen for nearly 8 hours was a little tough.

I should be finding out my schedule sometime early next week and I hope there isn’t too much disruption to my kids schedules.  Macy’s prides themselves on a balance of work and life and I’m hoping this is true.

I spent the entire day with a pretty cool guy, he and I laughed often to try and break up the monotony.  He’s there as a second job, what a shame that people are having to work 2 jobs to provide.

I already spent money there, they require black pants only so I bought three new pair. They gave me coupons for 30% off so it wasn’t all that bad, that was also in addition to the sale prices!! I have to wear a collared shirt and tie as well and I have plenty of them so that isn’t an issue. Black shoes and black socks as well, not an issue either. The only reason I bought some new pants was because I gained some weight the last few months, food is my comfort and I needed it the last few months. I’m going to get back to working out and losing at least 30 pounds over the next year. Stay tuned for those updates

Hopefully I’ll be able to see my schedule, and everything else tomorrow. I’d really like to know when I am starting and all the other jazz that comes with the new job. I am psyched if you can’t tell.  I wonder how the permanent employees will treat the seasonal ones…will be interesting to see.  I’m hoping to make a lasting impression, be a big team player and help others…I’m hoping this will relieve any “threat” concerns from the permanent employees.  I’m not there to take their job, I just want one for myself!!!

Keep a positive  outlook, things will turn around for all of us.

I got the job (seasonal) at Macy’s!!!!  Christmas will be so much better because of it.  I’ll still be looking for full time (permanent) employment but this job gives me some much needed confidence!!!

Keep your head up, you can’t see the future if your eyes are always looking at the ground!!

I recently heard the TJMaxx was hiring for permanent positions, not temporary ones like Macy’s.  I need to get an application filled out with TJ Maxx as soon as possible.

Finally, something good has happened, now maybe good things will come in 3’s?!  Have you any good info to share?  Leave me a comment below.

I’ve got to pay some bills (with what little money I have) and do some laundry.  I’ve also got to go grocery shopping.

I had to take a 401k withdrawal and that money comes in tomorrow, I wonder how painful my taxes are going to be this year?!  The President should do something for people (like me) that have really hit hard times and been forced to take 401K withdrawals just to eat and pay the bills.  I am not buying LED TV’s or anything for myself for that matter.  I am using the money to pay bills and live while I look for a job every day.
I sit and wonder why this stuff is happening to me but I know I am not alone, although this doesn’t make it sting any less.  The lack of control of my future make me angry at times, I wish I could control it better.  I’n sure that the temporary job at Macy’s will help which is a welcome relief.

Maybe this job will lead to another opportunity, I need to take advantage of everything this offers!  I’m going into this (potential) job with optimism and a sense of newness.  I guess you could say I am going into this potential temporary job with a sense of HOPE.
