Unemployment rate rises…I could have told you that

I was reading an article on Yahoo about the unemployment rate rising above 10%.  As you would expect (of Yahoo) the article is very well written and informative.

I appreciate the fact that Yahoo explained that the rate may actually be significantly higher due to other factors, as in the rate may be near 17.5% which is probably accurate.  The factors mentioned are (and I quote directly from the article)

“Counting those who have settled for part-time jobs or stopped looking for work, the unemployment rate would be 17.5 percent, the highest on records dating from 1994.”

I wonder if the rate will go over 20% if things don’t start to really turn around in 2010.  Something has to give…and fast!!!!

On another note, I had to ask for a withdrawal from my 401K, I hate doing it but I need to feed my family and pay the bills (which keep on coming mind you).

I’ve taken a few withdrawals this year and I am going to pay the price for the rest of my life (less money making money), I can never get that money back and I will pay out the ass in taxes/penalties.

I try not to let this stuff get me down…continue thinking positively!!!

If I let this stuff get to me, I’d go crazy and drive my family crazy as well.  That is the last thing I want to do, my kids are like sponges and they repeat everything I do and every way I act.  I need to set a good example for them so that they can be responsible mature adults.

Till we speak again, remember that you and I are probably more alike than you think.
